About Us - Approach To Care
At Buffalo Spine and Sports (BSSI), we take a unique approach to patient care that begins the moment you walk through our doors.
1) At BSSI, we emphasize the role of the medical exam/medical history in evaluating our patients. We supplement that information with lab work and imaging studies. It’s really more of an old fashioned way of practicing medicine, which is a BSSI tradition in which we take great pride.
2) At BSSI, we provide comprehensive medical services and the widest array of medical treatments available at any Western New York Physiatry Practice. Our physicians, physician's assistants and physical therapists offer ultrasound and x-ray guided injections, Botox treatments, electromyograms (EMG's), Women’s Health and Rehabilitation Services, Active Release Technique (ART) therapy and functional physical therapy, depending on each patients’ medical needs.
3) At BSSI, we focus on a patient's function, as opposed to pain control. We teach our patients to exercise in ways that actually restore their body's functions that may have been lost. These functional exercises are developed through custom-designed physical therapy programs created by our physicians, in partnership with our in-house and consulting physical therapists.
